Significance
Vasant Panchami marks the onset of spring and is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the deity of learning, music, and arts. It falls on Magha Shukla Panchami. Yellow is the dominant colour.

According to the Brahma Purana, Brahma created the universe and felt something was missing. Saraswati emerged from his mouth with a veena. She is also associated with the day when Kamadeva shot his arrow at Shiva to awaken him from meditation. Spring is considered the season of love and creativity.
