Vidyarambham

The initiation into formal learning, observed on Vijayadashami (or on the day after in Kerala). A child is guided to write their first letters, traditionally in rice or sand, beginning with the syllable "Hari Sri Ganapataye Namah". Celebrated across South India but most prominently in Kerala.
