Descent of Goddess Ganga to earth from heaven. Jyeshtha Shukla Dashami. Devotees bathe in the Ganges; chanting "Ganga Maiya ki Jai". One of the most auspicious days for Ganges bathing. Convention: when Jyeshtha appears as Adhika + Nija (e.g. 2026), observed in the FIRST Jyeshtha (Adhika).
