Holika Dahan — Significance
Eve of Holi — bonfire commemorating the salvation of Prahlada from his demoness aunt Holika. Phalguna Shukla Purnima at sunset / Pradosh-kaal (the evening before Rangwali Holi). Drik convention: tithi evaluated at sunset, so Purnima present at sunset → observe that evening; Purnima starts after sunset → fall through to next sunset. Communities gather around bonfires; effigies of Holika burned.
